El premio del Huevo de Oro nació en 2005 con el fin de premiar a los mejores trabajos de mercadeo y comunicación para promover el consumo de huevo de Latinoamérica.
En el certamen del Huevo de Oro, celebrado durante el XXVI Congreso Latinoamericano de Avicultura (OVUM 2019) en Lima, Perú, la Cámara Nacional de Avicultores de Costa Rica (Canavi) fue galardonada con tres premios en tres distintas categorías.
Benjamín Ruiz es el editor en jefe de la revista especializada Industria Avícola. Es un especialista en nutrición, alimentos balanceados, producción animal y avicultura con más de 20 años de experiencia en la industria. También es traductor (del inglés y portugués al español) enfocado en temas pecuarios, farmacéuticos y médicos.
Ruiz posee una licenciatura en Nutrición y Ciencia de los Alimentos de la Universidad Iberoamericana en México, DF, y una maestría en Nutrición y Producción Animal de Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, EE.UU.). También posee un diplonado en Traducción Inglés-Español de la Universidad Iberoamericana y un diplomado en Terminología de El Colegio de México. También ha tomado múltiples cursos en desarrollo agropecuario, alimentos balanceados, comercialización de grados, administración, mercadotecnia, periodismo, traducción y escritura.
