Tarek Farahat fue elegido unánimemente por el Consejo de Administración de JBS como presidente del mismo. Farahat, que ha sido miembro del consejo desde 2013, así como el presidente global de mercadotecnia e innovación de la compañía desde 2015, sustituye a Joesley Batista, que renunció como presidente y miembro del consejo, en medio del escándalo de sobornos y después del trago amargo de la Operación Carne Débil, así como sus puestos en comités dentro de la empresa.
